Our fourth graders spent an unforgettable day at the Mičiūnai homestead in Aukštaitė: they observed a stork's nest, learned about the significance of storks in Lithuanian traditions, and the Stork Festival.
The children made their own buns, looked for "stork nests", learned about types of grains and their uses, and tried grinding with hand mills. 
Not only did we have fun, but we also deepened our knowledge about the national bird and developed respect for nature.
